Fridge Space

It wasn't until a few days later that I was at home long enough to need to head to the fridge. Work has been pretty full on and with an international artist in town, I've been doing a lot of eating out ;)

But at long last I was home again and it was hot; And as there's nothing better to cool yourself down with than a big glass of icy cold water, that was the plan. But there was no icy cold water in the fridge - instead, there was just a fridge full of off food.

The very same day I did a big grocery shop, I used the microwave at home which meant unplugging the fridge and plugging in the microwave. This isn't normally a big deal for me as I don't often use the microwave, but for some reason or other I forgot to plug it back in. DANG!

Perhaps I will listen to my sister at long last when she tells me to just buy a double adapter for the kitchen.... (Sunday Scribblings)

doors #1

As mentioned below, I'm taking part in a simple but fun photo challenge where I'm taking 43 photographs of doors.

Door 1 for yr pleasure.

The purpose of this? Well, just to LOOK and SEE the world around me, I suppose. To appreciate the beauty in the every day, to slow down a bit.

I am looking forward to this : )

climbing up that hill

Went out to lunch today for a work friends' birthday, and can't believe it's taken me so long to discover Bar Reggio - the most delish Italian pizza and pasta place in Sydney. YUM!

I love old school yummy carbs, I can't help it! In fact, I love all foods.. big tasty dishes, garlic, cheese, herbs, spices, whatever - bring it on!

So it was fitting that after this feast we had to walk up the BIG hill back to work. hehe, very useful!

Daring Female

It took me a while... but I did it : ) M, you'll be proud of me! Pumpkin & Ricotta Lasagne, above.

Do you ever get 'comfortable' in life? So comfy that you just seem to move through the days doing what needs to be done and feeling ok about it, but not really feeling that sparkle?

Daring Female is a gorgeous site that helps chicks around the world find that sparkle again, by daring themselves to leap free from the 'comfortable' - whether it's trying a new dish (above - ta dah!), taking a different route to work, going trapezing or create more art.. or whatever their heart tells them!

So I am working on daring myself at least once a month in this fabulous year of 2008 - January is now done.

Hmmm what shall I do for February??!! Suggestions, friends? Is there something that you are keen to dare yourself on this year???

Little Birdy

I have started a new photo challenge (to take 43 photographs of doors) so I can use my flash new digital camera more, and in the process, open my eyes to things around me, and scrub up on my skills.

So I've been checking out doors here and there and everywhere, and what do I come across? Right over the street from my work place, there's this gorgeous chalk-drawn little birdy on a door frame!
Too cute : )

Beach Days

The thing I miss most about living where I do now, is the beach. I grew up by the water and just walking along the oceans edge every day was a beautiful, refreshing part of my life.

So when I went to visit my sister on the weekend, we went to the beach, went for a wander, and WOW - the fresh salty air, the breeze, the freedom, it completely made a big grin appear on my face. How I miss it!!!

Cooking up a Storm

Meet my all-time favourite spice - Cumin. YUM YUM YUM!
I adore it, never get sick of it, and had to share the love.

I also dig lentils and beans.. of course! They make up the bulk of my diet and truth be told, I just enjoy them. Have never been a big fan of red meat so the decision to give it up wholly, over 10 years ago, was easy.
